How To Sew a Blanket Stitch?

The blanket stitches are quite simple to make once you are familiar with the work. It can be done by hands and machine. Without any confusion, let us start with the stitches and their procedures. You need to be calm while sewing the blanket-stitch as it needs patience and consistency for a long time. the stitches should be similar rather than uneven. You will need a good needle and a matching thread or the thread of the color that you want to create the design with. Keep a scissor by your side for cutting loose ends at the end.

  • Step 1: Thread the needle with whatever thread you prefer and make a knot.
  • Step 2: bring two fabrics close to each other and press them together. hold them in an upright position.
  • Step 3: Bring the needle out from one end.
  • Step 4: take a full round of the thread and insert the needle from the same side but at a little distance. ( as much you prefer)
  • Step 5: Take the needle and pass it through the loop that has been created between point one and point two.
  • Step 6: Pull the thread to tighten the stitch.
  • Step 7: Keep repeating till you finish.
